I'm married to a saint of a man. I have two sons who aren't, but I love them anyway. And I'm no saint either. I am messy, tend to keep things much longer than necessary, love dogs and can't watch Disney movies with animals in them. I still cry at Puff the Magic Dragon. I love books because I can get lost in someone else's world and forget my own. Mine's not so bad, but who doesn't want to escape every once in a while. I just want to escape a little more often than most others I know, so I'm here to find my own kind. Book lovers! I have a degree in English Literature from the University of Florida and read and write every chance I get.

Teenage Garage Sale with Becca Richie author of Wynter Chelsea & Give Away

Teenage Garage Sale Post with Becca Ritchie
And E-book Give Away of Wynter Chelsea The Legacy

I have Becca Ritchie on the blog today to share with us what we'd find in her garage when she was a teenager.  Last year!!  She's already got two books under her belt that have great reviews and today, we are giving away a copy of the first in the series, Wynter Chelsea The Legacy.  Make sure to fill out the form below.

So Becca what would be in your Teenage Garage Sale?

Let me stretch my mind way back in time when I was a wee little teenager. One year ago. Yes, one year ago, I was 19-years-old, and when I was 14, I sat in a battered armchair with a compact computer on my lap and a stack of floppy disks teetering on the armrest. Wynter Chelsea was born for my amusement, but I am so excited and extremely happy that I had the opportunity to share it with others. Here are some items from my not-so-long-ago teenage years.
-Sega Genesis and Nintendo 64
Accompanied by Sonic and Mario Party. Since I grew up with an older brother, I either had to learn how to play video games or become a spectator. I chose the former. I took both game consoles to college and beat all the guys at Mario Party. That being said, they all ganged up on Yoshi pretty quickly as pay back.

Floppy Disks and a Compact Computer – Six years ago, I wrote feverously, saving my stories on multicolored floppy disks and pounding the keys on a hefty compact computer. Flash drives, to my knowledge, were not popular back then. My stack of floppies towered on my desk, and one floppy could only hold half a novel! After years of collecting dust, I popped in Wynter Cheslea 2 / Floppy Disk 2 into my computer and what came up? Symbols in a weird computer language. I ended up rewriting most of the second book because of the floppy disk error.

Collage Scrapings – A boy once told me, “I don’t know why girls like to do collages.” My response, “I collaged my entire bathroom.” I wasn’t fond of the bunny wallpaper, so I cut some ads from Vanity Fair and Vogue. I since moved from that house, but the bathroom remains as is, with a wallpaper that took an entire week to create.

TV Series collection – Angel, Dark Angel, Roswell, Gilmore Girls, Freaks and Geeks, Dawson’s Creek, Charmed, Supernatural, Generation Kill, The 4400, Hawaii Five-O, The O.C., One Tree Hill, Everwood, Mad Men, Big Bang Theory, Skins (UK), Dexter, and Weeds. Granted, some of the discs are missing from all of my DVD collections mentioned above. That happens when you move four times all throughout high school (I house jumped within a fifteen mile radius).

Stuffed Keroppi – I must be honest. I did not know the frog from Hello Kitty was named Keroppi until I just looked it up. But as a kid, frogs were special to me because of a froggy pillow my grandmother made. Keroppi, a huge stuffed frog, has sat on my bed for many years since. As embarrassing as admitting my love of frogs is, I just had to add Keroppi.

Wilson Tennis Racket – I started playing at nine and continued throughout high school, landing a spot on the tennis team and winning a state championship when I was sixteen (though I wasn’t a starter then). I spent countless hours practicing at my hometown’s tennis center, and when I entered college, I realized how much I missed it.

Meg Cabot’s series – All-American Girl, Princess Diaries, Avalon High, and The Boy Next Door were series that I tore through as a young teenager. Before I fell in love with paranormal, urban fantasy, and science fiction, I had Meg Cabot and dreams about being a princess.

Thanks for having me on your blog, Heather!

Thanks for playing along Becca!  And thanks for Wynter Chelsea The Legacy!  My review will be coming up in a few days, but it's phenomenal.  I can't believe you wrote it as a teen!
