Middle Grade Reading Challenge (Found One)

So I was looking for a Middle Grade reading challenge and finally found one that is exactly what I wanted!
I found it over at The Haunting of Orchid Forsythia and it's called The All About Middle Grade Challenge!

So, of course I'm going to sign up, but I had to do a post about it, that's why the two posts today.
So here are the details copied directly from the website. The form to fill out if you want to participate is on the website.

Readers, all you need do is read and review any middle grade book that you want. It can be new or old because the goal of this challenge is to share the love of MG books with as many people as possible.

I hope that y’all are as excited about this challenge as I am. Authors’, please, do not hesitate to contact me with any questions you may have.

Challenge Levels:
1-3 Freshmeat
1-7 middle grade rookie
1-10 Master of all that is MG

Rules:
  • Open to EVERYONE
  • Bonus karma points for reviewing the MG titles that you read next year and linking them on the blog each month and for sharing the challenge with others.
  • Any middle grade books counts. It doesn't matter when it was written; all that matters is that you read an MG title.
  • Create a post stating your acceptance of the challenge and what level you're going for
  • The All about Middle Grade Challenge will run from January 1 through December 31, 2013. Sign-up at any time to participate.

The blog owner is also accepting Middle Grade Authors requests for review and interviews. So you might want to check that out, too! I'm really excited about this one because I love Middle Grade fiction. I find there is a lot more humor in it and it's usually much more lighthearted!

So, I've got my three challenges and I'm set for the year. Oh, I'm going for reading 10 MG books. I've already got two to read and I know of a third that I want to read, hopefully I'll get the ARC but if not I'll probably buy the series anyway. And I've got a couple already here at home that I haven't read. I probably already have ten to read!

I hope some of you will join this challenge! MG books aren't simple, dumbed down books from YA. They have great characters and complex story lines just like YA. Some of my favorites that I've read are Kevin's Point of View which is now called Captain Disaster, The Fourth Stall series, The Hero's Guide to Saving Your Kingdom, Breadcrumbs, The complete Artemis Fowl series, The complete Alex Rider series, The H.I.V.E. series, and the Charlie Bone series. I don't include Harry Potter because as far as I'm concerned it's ageless. I read a lot of boy books because I have two boys.

So there you go! Hopefully I'll be posting some books that meet some of my challenges very soon!

While I appreciate it, I just don't have the time to respond to them.
