Waiting on Wednesday

Waiting on Wednesday is a meme begun by Jill at Breaking The Spine in which bloggers get to show what books they are saving their pennies for, dreaming about at night, slobbering over, and just plain can't wait to get their hands on! I know this one has been shown probably all over the place, but I'm getting antsy......

Just One Year by Gayle Forman
Publisher: Dutton Children's
Publish Date:  October 15, 2013
Companion to JUST ONE DAY. It will be in Willem's POV.

"Can you fall in love in just one day? Can you become a new person? How about in just one year? In JUST ONE DAY and its companion novel JUST ONE YEAR, sheltered American good girl Allyson “LuLu” Healey and easygoing actor Willem De Ruiter are about to find out against a guidebook-worthy array of foreign backdrops. Equal parts romance, coming-of-age-tale, mystery and travel romp (with settings that span from England’s Stratford upon Avon to Paris to Amsterdam to India’s Bollywood) JUST ONE DAY and JUST ONE YEAR show how in looking for someone else, you just might wind up finding yourself."

My question is: Did you read Just One Year? If so, do you think that's her? Allyson? Or is that another girl? What did you think of that ending? Do you think there will be an HEA? Can there be? Or would that be too much, to coincidental? (Personally I'm hoping for an HEA. Nothing is too coincidental for me! I like an HEA!) What are your thoughts on this one?

  2. I still haven't read Just One Day. It's sitting in storage right now due to the fact that I'm currently moving. But once I unpack all my books, it definitely at the top of my TBR!

  3. *Just One Day

I read Just One Day and loved it so much. I wasn't sure at first, but after about halfway through I was convinced of Forman's genius and ability to floor me with every single story she writes. I do think there will be a happily ever after. Why not?

    1. It's not a companion novel. It's a sequel. I don't know what Walking Disaster is. If you read Just One Day and enjoyed it, you'd know why you want to read this one.

  8. This is one book that I am longing for. The other day I was grocery shopping and I starting thinking about Just One Day. I stopped mid-aisle and was overcome with a feeling of sadness because I realized that it would be several months until I got to read Just One Year. And it was in that moment that really thought how much Just One Day affected me.

    Great selection!

    1. I so agree Joli! Just One Day touched me like no other novel has. It made me want to accomplish things and do things I haven't had the energy or will to do. I've already done two of the things on my list though they aren't completed. They are the biggest things on my list. It isn't a self help book, but it's the best coming of age, finding yourself book I have ever read!

And it's okay, just re-read it until Just One Day comes out. Maybe the e-ARC will be out soon.

  10. Heather! I haven't read anything by Gayle Forman STILL. I was supposed to have remedied that months ago but I still haven't managed to do it. I fail at life. Glad to know you were such a fan of the first book though, it seems likely I will be too. And YES to an HEA! I really hope there is one, I live for my HEAs:)

    1. Jenny- The first book, Just One Day, was so incredible, I recommend it anyway, no matter how this one turns out. I think Gayle Forman will make it all turn out so that we are okay with the ending, whatever it may be. I do want an HEA, but we don't always get those. I was so inspired by Just One Day! You NEED to read it.

  16. I am really excited for this one. I thought Willem was a bit of a cad in Just One Day (and I hate how he looks like John Mayer on this cover) but I'm still dying to read the story from his POV. I prefer Where She Went over If I Stay so maybe I have a thing for Gayle Forman's male POV books.

  18. Hi friend :) I've heard excellent things about Gayle Forman, and just know that I will love her books! I have such a crazy reading schedule of books that I've agreed to read, that I have no time to fit in extras. I'm hoping this summer, I will have more flexibility in my schedule. The book cover of Just One Year is beautiful. I hope to read Just One Day this summer! Great WOW pick!!! Here's my WOW:
